British boat designer Alex McDiarmid has recently unveiled his newest concept design of a Super Yacht. With Conchology (the study of shells) in mind, the outer body is inspired from the Turitella shell (tower screw) which is a long twirled seashell, he called it The Conch. The concept sports a multi-colored exterior paint job, the openings in the shell serves as the windows to the 4 levels of the yacht. The vessel is designed to sail at a top speed of 18 knots, and a cruising speed of 14 knots.
The shells on the top of the boat serves as skylights, allowing light in through the deck and achieving a nice visual display on each level of the boat. The Conch can accommodate 16 guests in its 2 VIP cabins that feature private exterior balconies, 3 double guest cabins, and a twin guest cabin. The master suite sports the owner’s salon, exterior balcony and private exterior deck area. The yacht comes with a steel hull and aluminum body and can hold a crew of 20. And what would a luxury, 18 knot boat be without the toys to match? Alex McDiarmid displays helicopters, sea scooters, kayaks and more alongside his renderings of this elite super yacht.
