A harsh year of clean-up has passed since the immense 9.0-magnitude earthquake that struck Japan, triggering a destructive tsunami wave. The moving wall of water caused a widespread wipe-out, leaving almost 22,000 people dead or missing and unleashing a nuclear crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.
