Brazilian street artist Eduardo Kobra just finished up a mural called “Ballerina” in Moscow, Russia. It’s a tribute to Maya Plisetskaya, the iconic Russian ballet dancer, who will celebrate her 88th birthday on November 20, 2013. The kaleidoscopic graffiti of 12 meters long and 16 wide (40 by 53 feet) shows Plisetskaya paused in an elegant move from Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake”.
“I want[ed] to make for Moscow something that is connected to its culture.” – says Kobra. “The street where we are working, with classical buildings all over it, is preserved as a historical and cultural heritage. It is in the Tverskoy district, a stunning area, with 19 theaters, such as the Stanislavski Theatre and the Grand Bolshoi Theatre.”
