Photo-Realistic Portraits by Ruben Belloso

Ruben Belloso Adorna, 27 year-old artist from Seville, Spain creates amazing photorealistic drawings. The large-scale portraits are extremely detailed, perfectly express different emotions and surprisingly done using only pastel over the wooden canvas. Looking over and over again through these colorful paintings makes it really hard to believe they are not photographs and were made with the simplest tool – pastels. Hats off to the genius Ruben Belloso.

Maps of Famous Foods Around the World

“Food Maps” is a food art project by photographer Henry Hargreaves and food stylist Caitlin Levin. When you hear cheese, most probably first country that comes  to your mind is France, noodles – China and so on. Henry and Caitlin used all the food stereotypes to map them over the outlines of countries and continents the product is popular in or origin from. Edible maps came out stunning and full of taste. They also could be used as little guidelines for food tourism. “These maps show how food has traveled the globe. while we know that tomatoes originally came form the Andes in south… Read more »

Perfect Symmetry in Finger Art by Judith Braun

Judith Braun, artist from New York, for around a decade creates abstract black and white art pieces with her bare fingers dipped into the charcoal dust. Nothing more, no other traditional equipment used. Complicated patterns and pictures can amaze anyone with their large size and perfect symmetry. “Abstraction keeps the images free to be anything, while the symmetry resolves that fluidity into something, like liquid energy crystallizing. The crystal metaphor is also reflected in the carbon medium of graphite that, under heat and pressure, becomes a diamond. Working within constraints prompts a proliferation of possibilities that self organize into groups and subgroups,… Read more »

Comic Strips and Hyper-Realism by Andrew Zonzini

His photographs often include comic book style illustrations making his followers think details were photoshoped afterwards. Zonzini’s hyper-realistic art already attracted more than 55K followers to his Instagram account. “I am a graphic designer and an illustrator, so when I think about the composition of each of my pictures, I try to use graphical elements designed by myself, playing a lot with colors and simplicity. Many people think that the illustrations are added afterwards on the computer, but that is not what I… Read more »
