“Food Maps” is a food art project by photographer Henry Hargreaves and food stylist Caitlin Levin. When you hear cheese, most probably first country that comes to your mind is France, noodles – China and so on. Henry and Caitlin used all the food stereotypes to map them over the outlines of countries and continents the product is popular in or origin from. Edible maps came out stunning and full of taste. They also could be used as little guidelines for food tourism.
“These maps show how food has traveled the globe. while we know that tomatoes originally came form the Andes in south america, Italy has become the tomato king. who doesn’t know the saying ‘throwing some shrimp on the barbie’ and not think of Australia? who goes to France without eating bread and cheese? and who makes a Brazilian caipirinha without using fistful of limes” - says Hargreaves and Levin.
