Dubai is one of the world’s most fast-growing futuristic cities. In less than 20 years, Dubai has become visually striking, an architect’s wonderland, where dreams on paper were given a chance to shine in reality. This timelapse video takes us on a stunning trip through its streets, waterways and skyscrapers. Created by Belarusian photographer and travel enthusiast Dima dimid Vazhnik, the clip deservedly become a hit online in less than one week of posting, with more than 100,000 views. This touching footage is a result of unlimited hours of video surveillance through cams placed in car dashboards in Russia. To help control rising insurance fraud many cars are now equipped with these dash cams to capture what unfolds in front of vehicles in an attempt to aid innocent people, law enforcement, and insurance firms in the event of an accident. Located on the Thames river, London is the largest urban zone and metropolitan area in the United Kingdom, and the European Union by most measures. The folks over at Teehan+Lax have just released a new tool that lets you scrape public data from Google Street View to create sweeping hyperlapse videos. They describe a hyperlapse as: Hyper-lapse photography—a technique combining time-lapse and sweeping camera movements typically focused on a point-of-interest—has been a growing trend on video sites. It’s not hard to find stunning examples on Vimeo. Creating them requires precision and many hours stitching together photos taken from carefully mapped locations. A few weeks earlier we posted the official teaser of the time-lapse short film entitled ‘Egypt HD’, along side some of the photos used in the movie that were sent to us by the makers. Well, this morning photographer, director and editor Abd El Rahman Gabr, of Koree Films, and Qube Productions (previously featured here and here) has released his masterpiece after months and months of hard work. Gabr, started traveling and shooting in September 2012, he later joined efforts with Mahmoud Zahran, who together, roamed the country shooting some 50,000 images to create their first ever professional time-lapse. A group of Russian photographers illegally climbed the great Pyramids of Giza – hiding from guards for four hours after closing time before beginning the ascent, and snapped these never-taken-before photos of the view on top of one of the last standing 7 wonders of the world.
Samuel Orr is the photographer behind this nature-insightful time-lapse video. A Forest Year is Orr’s first foray into time-lapses, demonstrating great patience. It was made from 40,000 still images taken from his front window over a period of 15 months, and were blended into this film. The video was released about a month ago and has since gone viral. A very well done job Mr. Orr! we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on his upcoming work.
