The hilarious video by David Finlayson of a GroPro Camera attached to the end of a trombone slide is just silly. In a new open space in front of Université du Québec à Montréal’s Science Faculty, Canadian design collective Daily Tous Les Jours has just completed their project 21 Balançoires (21 Swings), an installation of swings turned into enormous musical instruments that also light up from below. The designers, known for their wide variety of interactive public installations and experiences, managed to focus primarily on public engagement and interest. Every set of 3 or 4 swings, when moved, pre-recorded sounds from a xylophone, piano, and other instruments are programmed to play various notes, giving the public a challenge to synchronize their swinging for more complex tunes and musical solos…
The nHow, Europe’s first Music Hotel – in the heart of Berlin, Germany. Located on the banks of the river Spree right between east and west Berlin, and at the epicentre of the music, fashion and creative scene, the new lifestyle hotel was recently opened in November 2010, and it has yet to meet its match.
