Starbucks’ New Store Designed Like An Old-Fashioned Apothecary

Starbucks opened a new store in New Orleans, USA. New location on Canal Street was inspired by city’s history and was designed to imagine how would the place look like as if it belonged to a Louisianan merchant in the early 1900s resembling the old apothecary store. The front room is a room where the merchant would have worked, and the back one – his living space – has more relaxed atmosphere. Lots of interior pieces were made by local artists. The new coffeeshop is an example of Starbucks approach of honoring the neighborhood’s culture through the store’s design.

The World’s Biggest Barbie House in Shanghai, China is now CLOSED [PHOTOS]

Not all marketing moves are bringing the profit and development companies expect. Sometimes the company strategy could appear too outrageous for the new target. In March 2009 one of the world’s largest toy producers – Mattel Inc. (MAT) – opened the world’s first Barbie flagship store in Shanghai, China.  The opening was dedicated to 50 years anniversary of the world’s most-loved doll. Louis Vuitton Island Maison in Singapore

Famous French fashion house, Louis Vuitton, just opened their newest and fifth showroom in Singapore last week. The new store isn’t just a branch, its a complete glass island-building, designed by Safdie Architects as a part of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel development opened in April of last year. The Marina Bay Sands complex just couldn’t have enough to offer, despite the casinos, restaurants, 3-towers hotel, world’s largest sky park, and the infinity view roof-top pool it sports,  one of two glass-and-steel pavilions Safdie built at the edge of the bay was acquired by the fashion house, and turned into LV’s biggest showroom… Read more »
