A Breathtaking Hyper-lapse Cruise Through Google Street View

The folks over at Teehan+Lax have just released a new tool that lets you scrape public data from Google Street View to create sweeping hyperlapse videos. They describe a hyperlapse as: Hyper-lapse photography—a technique combining time-lapse and sweeping camera movements typically focused on a point-of-interest—has been a growing trend on video sites. It’s not hard to find stunning examples on Vimeo. Creating them requires precision and many hours stitching together photos taken from carefully mapped locations. The Stunning “EGYPT HD” Time-Lapse by Koree Films Has Been Released!

A few weeks earlier we posted the official teaser of the  time-lapse short film entitled ‘Egypt HD’, along side some of the photos used in the movie that were sent to us by the makers. Well, this morning photographer, director and editor Abd El Rahman Gabr, of Koree Films, and Qube Productions (previously featured here and here) has released his masterpiece after months and months of hard work. Gabr, started traveling and shooting in September 2012, he later joined efforts with Mahmoud Zahran, who together, roamed the country shooting some 50,000 images to create their first ever professional time-lapse. A Forest Year (timelapse video)

Samuel Orr is the photographer behind this nature-insightful time-lapse video. A Forest Year is Orr’s first foray into time-lapses, demonstrating great patience. It was made from 40,000 still images taken from his front window over a period of 15 months, and were blended into this film. The video was released about a month ago and has since gone viral. A very well done job Mr. Orr! we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on his upcoming work.

“EGYPT HD” Teaser

Egypt-based photographer, director and editor Abd El Rahman Gabr, of Koree Films, (previously featured here and here), has sent us this morning an exclusive teaser for his upcoming timelapse short film entitled “EGYPT HD”. The movie is aimed at exploring the most amazing and exotic locations in Egypt. “Our purpose of this video is to show and give true credit to this country.” Gabr describes Gabr is set to take off on a few more travel destination around Egypt to finalize shooting for his movie for a release by early spring 2013. Time-Lapse Magic at the Capital of the Ukrainian North – Chernihiv

A young talent from Chernihiv, Ukraine, photographer Dima Torianyk created a very sweet video describing his hometown. It took him one month and 25,000 shots in preparation, he picked out 15,000 ones to finish his 2 minutes of perfection. The gear used is 18-135 and helios 44-2. Torianyk depicts the modern dynamic and unique history of an originally small yet amazing city in a way that makes you hit the play button one more time. The Lion City – Singapore

Here’s a new video from an artist who manages to always push the art of time-lapse in new directions, Keith Loutit. Made using tilt-shift technology, he displays Singapore “The Lion City” like never before. The render technique is amazingly fresh, using a blur-focus wave on various depth to give each static scene a dynamic vibe. (music signed “Sepia Productions”).

A Heartwarming Time-Lapse Video of Egypt’s Beautiful Alexandria

Egypt-based photographer, director and editor Abd El Rahman Gabr, of Koree Films, has teamed up with photographer Mohamed Chehimi to create this heart-warming time-lapse video of Alexandria, Egypt‘s 2nd largest city. The amount of skill and effort put into the motion picture is astounding, framing and colors are perfectly intact to make you feel the vibe of a seaside city that blends tradition and culture . The gear used is a Canon EOS 7d, lenses: Ef 70-200 mm 2.8, Ef 50 mm 1.4, and Sigma 10-20 mm.

The maker spent a little over a month hotel hopping around Manhattan to shoot this time lapse. A 6000 Photos-Time-Lapse of the World in Under 5 Minutes by Kien Lam

17 Countries, 343 Days, 6,237 Photographs. Last year photographer Kien Lam embarked on a back-packing expedition around the world and documented his epic journey by shooting over 6000 photographs that were compiled in a magical 5 minute time lapse. Each scene in the video is approximately 2 seconds and is comprised of 40-60 shots on average.
